A new space for culture and students at Špitálské Square

In the very centre of Ústí nad Labem, at Špitálské náměstí, we are bringing another place to life. Our building is currently undergoing a transformation, at the end of which there will be facilities for both living and creativity. Already, the Hraničář Association has demonstrated how this space will be used, with a cultural event they organised serving as an example. Soon, there will also be residential units for artists from both the Czech Republic and abroad.
The spacious interior of the gallery at Špitálské Square features works installed by students and guests of the Hraničář Society.

The properties of the Martina Dryk Foundation also include another building in the centre of Ústí nad Labem, which you will find on Špitálské náměstí. This house also has its story, which we are currently continuing to write. At present, the building is undergoing careful reconstruction, aimed at creating a functional and inspiring environment. We plan to build new residential units here while preserving and enhancing the large space, which will become the heart of the house – it will serve as a studio, gallery, and meeting place.

Housing with an overlap

New apartments will serve as residential places for exchange stays for foreign students, or as facilities for other guests who bring new ideas and inspiration to the region. We want people from different corners of the world to feel at home here.

Culture under the baton of the Border Keeper

Collaboration with the Hraničář association is key for us here as well. Just like with Villa Heller, our colleagues from Hraničář are preparing a comprehensive project for this site too. The aim is for the emerging spaces not to be closed off from one another, but to be used as much and as meaningfully as possible for the local community.
