Czech Kamenice: Together against the trade in poverty
In Česká Kamenice, we found a city council that is not afraid to tackle the most difficult problems. We want to support the mayor in his fight against the misuse of properties and the trade in poverty. Our collaboration aims to support social services and connect the city to the world through students.
In Česká Kamenice, we want to build on our first meeting last year with a clear aim: to discuss concrete steps for long-term cooperation. We want to express strong support for the mayor in his difficult efforts towards a systemic solution to the situation with derelict houses and the fight against so-called poverty trafficking. It is a challenging task, and we want to make it clear that the city is not alone in this endeavor.
A major topic for us is the support of social services. In the city, the low-threshold facility for children and youth, St. Sofia, operates well and is run by the Charity of Česká Kamenice. According to the mayor, however, they are still fully booked. Therefore, we want to establish cooperation and discuss whether and how these necessary services could be expanded.
We also want to offer further cooperation regarding the network of residential places. In the first months of 2026, we are planning another meeting where we will already be agreeing on the specific timetable of our joint journey.
